How To Install A Kontakt Player Instrument

MAC OSX

01. Move the UnRarX file to your Applications folder. If you already have a utility that can extract .rar files, such as BetterZip, you can use that instead.

02. Launch UnRarX.

03. From the drop down menu next to “Extract to” choose a location where the library is to be installed. Next, Click OK. This will begin extracting the library. If there are multiple parts to the library, they will automatically be extracted in sequence, so this only needs to be done once.

04. Once the files have been extracted to the chosen location, you will be ready to add the library into Kontakt.

05. If you already have Kontakt Player and Native Access installed, you can skip to step 6. If you do not have Kontakt Player and Native Access already installed, launch the included Kontakt Player and Native Access Installers and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

06. Launch Kontakt Player application, then click on the Libraries tab from the
Kontakt browser on the left side of the Kontakt interface. Just below the “Libraries” tab click on “Manage Libraries”  This action will automatically open Native Access, you will need to use your Native Instruments account username and password to log in. If you do not have a Native Instruments account, click HERE to set one up.

07. Once logged in to Native Access, you will see an “Add a Serial” window. Input your serial number here and click “Add Serial”.  Upon successful registration, a “Browse” button will appear.  Click “Browse” this will open a new finder window.

08. Use this window to locate the library folder in the location you chose in STEP 2.  Once you have located the library folder, highlight it, and click “Open” this will link the library location to Native Access.

09. Click the “Install” button in Native Access to add the library to Kontakt.

10. If the library does not immediately show in your Kontakt Player browser window, click on the “Options” gear wheel at the top of the Kontakt Player application
window, select the “Libraries” tab from the left side of the “Options” window and check the box next to your library to add it.


WINDOWS

01. Go to http://www.winrar.de to download WinRar. If you already have a utility that can extract .rar files, you can use that instead.

02. Right click on the .rar file, then choose “Extract Files...” This will open an
“Extraction path and options” window.

03. From the “Destination Path” drop down menu, choose the location where the library should be installed. Next, Click OK. This will begin extracting the library. If there are multiple parts to the library, they will automatically be extracted in
sequence, so this only needs to be done once.

04. Once the files have been extracted to the chosen location, you will be ready to add the library into Kontakt.
