What Is The Difference Between Kontakt And Kontakt Player?

Many of the products we sell use the Kontakt or Kontakt Player software developed by Native Instruments.  It is importnat to note that there is an important difference between the two.

Kontakt Player is a free sampler software engine that powers many of our virtual instrument products. Instruments manufactured for the free Kontakt Player will run in the full version of Kontakt.  You can download the latest version here.

Kontakt, even though it shares a name with Kontakt Player, is not the same. This is a serialzed, paid sampler engine that many of our loop products require. For example, the products in our KLI Series will not run in the free Kontakt Player, and a full paid verion of Kontakt is required. You can buy a copy of that here
